An enslaving, dictatorial yet peaceful empire that throws democracy away ( Authoritarian + Pacifist) for ‘ordering’ than asking but sets hard limits on any kind of violence.A peaceful nation that fixates on equality of its citizens and those in the galaxy ( Egalitarian + Pacifist).A welcoming peaceful nation ( Xenophile + Pacifist), possibly Spiritual.A self-isolating nation, afraid of what lurks in the stars ( Xenophobic + Pacifist).I think that the art of a Pacifist leadership is being a negotiator, a people pleaser and also a political tactician, particularly when it comes to intergalactic diplomacy.īut at a populace level it could a general nature of the following:. So, I'd like to suggest the following modifications for Pacifists in general but ultimately are aimed at the Fanatic version.Ī reminder because war will never be on your terms or when you want it, these types of empires need extra Diplomacy tools. There are then playstyles that 'bait' an AI into warring you such as a Ruthless MegaCorp but that's 'gaming' the AI - at least in my opinion, they are 'gamey' tactics. Defensive wars only.įanatic Pacifist + Egalitarian = My preferred playstyle but still no easy way to expand. Defensive wars only.įanatic Pacifist + Materialist = Neither bad or good for diplomacy but new avenue to expand. Defensive wars only.įanatic Pacifist + Xenophile = Great for diplomacy but no way to expand easily. A nicer opinion modifier to offset being a Xenophobe would be nice here, a limit of say 3 empires willing to have diplomacy with you? Bleh again off topic slightly!).įanatic Pacifist + Authoritarian = Enslaving doesn't fit well for RP as a Pacifist without Spiritualism and I don't *think* it works. (This could be a little less horrible for Pacifists in my opinion, diplomacy shouldn't be that hard for a peaceful yet distrustful empire? Introversion mistaken? Bleh. More to the point making war purely on the enemies’ terms is a huge, bad disadvantage and for a smart adversary that’s devastating or even defeat and AIs are getting smarter now.įanatic Pacifist + Xenophobe = AI dislikes you and this is made worse that no one will easily engage with diplomacy with you. In Multiplayer opinion modifiers etc are much more throwaway). (This is mostly talking from a single player perspective where ethics generally are played out. ![]() It doesn't really fit in with most other ethics too well and here's why. And in short, makes the CB really important and as a Fanatic that is taken away completely and think it is a mistake but my suggestion allows for that CB being removed still, keeping it as is.įanatic Pacifist seems to only really work with Spiritualist both for roleplay and mechanically as well as retaining the same Ideological war type. To me this feels a very natural and semi none-violent way of growing. So, a degree of Pacifism works well for RP but I’ve come to the conclusion that Fanatic Pacifist is not worth playing unless your playing Spiritualist so you keep Ideological Wars. That’s how I prefer my expansion planning to be. I enjoy only warring when there's a threat / hostile empire or even when it’s simply forced on me in Stellaris.
